How Date Difference is Calculated
Date difference is calculated by converting both dates to a common numeric format (milliseconds since epoch) and finding the absolute difference. The result is then converted back to human-readable units. One day = 86,400,000 milliseconds = 86,400 seconds = 1,440 minutes.
Date Difference FormulaDays = |Date2 − Date1| ÷ 86,400,000 ms
Weeks = Days ÷ 7
Months ≈ Days ÷ 30.44
Years ≈ Days ÷ 365.25
